Zirconium - Bolt Action Pen by Bastion®

This pen is absolutely perfect!
At 2.4oz, it’s in the middle of the weight range for full size metal Bastion Bolt pens. The aluminum pen is the lightest of them at 1oz, followed by titanium (1.8oz), stainless steel & carbon fiber (2.3oz), and stainless steel (2.8oz). Brass and copper versions are no longer sold, but were as heavy (brass) or heavier (copper) than steel.
But Bastion painted themselves into a corner. How? Their products are perfect. The aluminum works as flawlessly as the steel, copper, brass, titanium and zirconium. If there were three matt black Bastion Bolts lying on the table in front of you, it would be impossible to tell which one is made from what metal until you pick it up. And initial quality is identical. With time and use, aluminum will pick up scratches and dings more quickly, because the metal is softer, but the functionality will most likely not be impacted. Unless subjected to harsh chemicals (and high temperatures, simultaneously), or thrown into a loaded rock tumbler, the non-aluminum pens will stay fully functional and in near new cosmetic appearance through Armageddon AND the Zombie Apocalypse!
The only reason I can think of for purchasing the titanium pen is because YOU (and only you) will know that your pen will last longer than the steel pen. And the zirconium pen will outlast the titanium pen! Your great grandchildren will be able to use this pen, provided Parker G2 style refills are still sold. If you’re afraid that might not happen, you can always buy Fisher Spacepen pressurized refills (shelf life 100 years, allegedly). The fact that ANY Parker G2 style refill works really gives you a wide array of inks and colors to choose from.
If you’re looking for the practical peak in reliability and longevity, the stainless steel is perfect enough. But if you’re looking for multi-generational longevity, it doesn’t get any better than the zirconium version. Plus, it’s nice to add to your collection of nearly indestructible EDC items!

Absolutely flawless finish to this pen but that's what I've become to expect as the standard from Bastion.

The Zirconium feels great in the hand, the weight and texture feel perfect and this helps to prevent fatigue when writing for long periods.

With the many crisis facing humanity right now the owner of this pen can take solice in the fact that this pen will probably still be functioning flawlessly long after the Water Wars of 2060 have ended. Write the history of the times to come with this impeccably manufacutred tool of the scribe.

Ordered the pen and then proceeded to lose it at work…after only a few days of enjoying it ….work is a very large 3 story …well know named department store…I was devastated…I looked for a couple of days …sent out emails to employees…no pen was found…my guess is someone found it and fell in love 🖤 with it …like I did for a few days…so I reordered a replacement identical pen …and will be extremely careful..when using it at work in the future!
