The Nile is at the heart of this design, a river whose stories live on through the art and symbols of ancient Egypt. THE NILE CHRONICLE brings that inspiration to life with boats under sail, pyramids, Egyptian-inspired figures, and flowering plants. Warm gold tones and turquoise accents connect the scenes, while wave patterns echo the water.
As Bastion’s second most detailed design in nearly 14 years, it challenged us to bring an extraordinary amount of detail to a small, curved surface. The artwork is built directly into the titanium through titanium anodizing and precision laser anodizing, never painted, printed, or applied as a sticker.
That careful work gives this limited edition titanium bolt action pen its distinctive character: a piece to collect, carry, and use to put your own stories on paper.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. THE NILE CHRONICLE is a one-time custom production run, meaning only one batch will be made. Because titanium anodizing naturally creates slight variations, no two pens will be exactly the same.
Pre-orders are open through October 13, with shipping currently estimated to begin around November 21.

The HyperBolt™ gives the pen a smooth, solid action and locks securely when the tip is in use. Precision CNC machining keeps the movement clean and consistent, giving you satisfying mechanical feedback every time you engage it. That same tactile feel also makes the pen enjoyable to fidget with between notes.
Yes. Bastion bolt action pens are designed to feel comfortable in either hand. The bolt is positioned for easy thumb operation whether you write left-handed or right-handed.
Every pen arrives ready to use with a fine-point black ink refill that delivers smooth, consistent lines with no ink blotches.
All current Bastion standard and Slim bolt action pens use the classic Parker-style G2 refill, also known as the ISO G2 or International G2 format.
This is not the same as a Pilot G2 refill. Some wider third-party Parker refills may also have fit issues, so Bastion replacement cartridges are recommended for the most reliable fit and smooth operation.
Changing the refill is simple and does not require any tools.
- Retract the writing tip.
- Unscrew the front section of the pen.
- Remove the old refill and set the small spring aside.
- Place the spring over the writing end of the new refill.
- Insert the new refill and screw the front section back on until snug.
- Test the bolt action and write a few lines on paper.
If the refill feels stuck, does not retract, or creates resistance in the bolt action, remove it rather than forcing the mechanism. Confirm that it is the correct Parker-style G2 size or use a Bastion replacement cartridge.
